Infinity-by-nine is the name of this new technology, in which the edges of the image are analyzed in real time and then projected roughly onto walls and/or the ceiling. MIT test subjects reported that they felt even more immersed in the events of the film and could even feel the heat of an explosion. According to MIT, the technology could in future be used in areas such as UI design, video games, or security systems. Whether the technology is interesting for the average consumer itself or whether its use in cinemas would provide more enjoyment remains open, but the idea behind it holds a great deal of potential.
