The two new lens models in the Cinema EOS system range, the CN-E 14mm T3.1 L F wide-angle prime lens and the CN-E 135mm T2.2 L F telephoto prime lens, are intended to offer 4K resolution for professional filmmaking purposes from low-end to high-end production.
EF Cinema Lens Portfolio
The Canon EF Cinema lens portfolio therefore currently consists of nine models. According to Canon, the two newly added lenses now also offer new possibilities for wide-angle and telephoto shots. With the extensive focal-length range, the portfolio is now intended to provide an optimal basis for filmmakers, allowing every story to be realised according to entirely individual ideas in terms of teschnical conditions.
The two prime lenses are compatible with Canon EOS system cinema cameras and EOS DSLR cameras and, thanks to a full-frame image circle, according to the manufacturer support both the industry-standard 35-millimetre and Super 35-millimetre formats.
Handling
Designed for film professionals, according to Canon the lenses are easier to operate thanks to a high-quality construction geared towards professional filmmaking, with particularly practical handling through a compact, optimised form as well as uniform front-lens diameters and drive positions. According to Canon, reading focus and aperture settings behind and to the side of the camra is made easier by markings on slightly angled surfaces on both sides of the lens barrel. In addition, a focus rotation angle of around 300 degrees is intended to enable precise focus adjustment during recording, and if required the unit of the focus marking can be set to metric or inches.
