A film print emulation LUT is useful for a preview that shows what the graded image will look like before it is printed. It is intended to show the density and color behavior of the film and thus enable an accurate preview.
Even if the project is not printed on film, the print LUTS can be used for an aesthetic effect or a film look on the footage. According to artist Juan Melara, who converted the print LUTs to the Resolve format, they are a one-click solution for a good film look.
The download zip file contains the following Print Film Stock Emulations:
- Fujifilm 3510
- Fujifilm 3513
- Kodak 2383
- Kodak 2393
Each LUT contains three variants, ConstLclip, ConstLmap and CUSPclip, which treat the gamut colors in a different way. Juan Melara primarily reaches for the ConstLclip version of each LUT, but since the LUTs are free, everyone can find their favorite look through their own experiments.
