For version 2.0, which is scheduled to be released later this year, the manufacturer is announcing Visual Programming. This is intended to make working with Fabric Engine easier for TDs because the code is displayed graphically. With the Splice API, studios can connect Fabric Engine to other applications such as Autodesk Maya, Softimage, and now 3ds Max, as well as to renderers.

Manufacturer Fabric Software is using Siggraph to devote an entire day to Fabric Engine. Click here for the program of the User Group Event on Thursday, August 12, room 306.

DP will take a closer look at Fabric Engine in one of its upcoming issues.
