Maxon has released “CV-VR Cam” on its Cineversity (CV) platform – a plug-in that can render VR content. The website also has several tutorial series with which CG artists can learn how to create pre-rendered or interactive VR videos.

In detail:

  • CV-VR Cam Plugin v1.5: Render spheres and cubes in mono and stereo, including pole merging and support for camera orientation. The accompanying tutorial explains how to create content in Cinema4D with Advanced or Physical Render, or with Octane VR.
  • Interactive VR with C4D/Unity/Oculus: A quick introduction to exporting C4D project files to Oculus Rift via the Unity Game Engine.
  • Kitchen VR: The tutorial series explains how to render a 360-degree VR video of a kitchen using Mettle’s Skybox Studio and Cineware in After Effects.

Maxon CV-VR Cam is available to all Cineversity Premium customers and can be installed via the CV Toolbox.
