HP has made two new announcements in the workstation sector. New and improved versions of the HP Z workstations were presented. HP is also collaborating with graphics-card specialist NVIDIA to implement workstation solutions in the virtual-reality sector.

The new Z workstations HP Z840, HP Z640 and HP Z440:

HP is improving its Z workstation models with increased system expandability, faster storage and more powerful multicore processors. HP Z Turbo Drive G2 1 TB PCIe SSD is intended to be the fastest Z Turbo Drive solution to date. The updated desktop workstations all come with Intel Xeon processors and graphics cards from NVIDIA Quadro and AMD FirePro. Users can choose between various operating systems from Microsoft or Linux. The new Intel processors in the Xeon E5-2600 v4 series support the HP Z workstations at up to 2,400 MHz. With a 1 TB SSD that is up to four times faster (compared with its predecessor), the new HP Z Turbo Drive optimises the workflow.
