Phoenix FD 3.0 for Autodesk 3ds Max

Chaos Group has released version 3.0 of the fluid dynamics plug-in Phoenix FD.

According to developer Chaos Group, the plug-in has already been used for simulations in “Game of Thrones” and “The Flash”.

A new FLIP Liquid Solver has been added for realising realistic liquid simulations:

In addition, the smoke and fire solvers have been optimised:

And with the new presets toolbar, fire, smoke and liquids can now be created quickly:

Also new is optimised volume rendering with accurate lighting and Global Illumination:

Simulations can be influenced with the newly available forces such as wind or spline following:

Fire, smoke and liquid simulations can now be previewed quickly and accurately in the viewport:

A trial licence can be requested on the Chaos Group website; a single simulation licence costs 150 euros, while a workstation licence is available for 600 euros. The “Workstation Plus” licence, including 5 simulation licences, is available for 1,150 euros.
