The UP2718Q monitor’s native resolution is 3840 x 2160 pixels. With a brightness of up to 1,000 nits, according to Dell the device can display the deepest black and brightest white. And the Adobe RGB, sRGB and REC 709 color spaces are said to be covered 100 percent, DCI-P3 97.7 percent and REC2020 76.9 percent. Users can individually set the color parameters in Custom Colour Mode or make adjustments by storing their preferred color parameters in the monitor’s internal lookup table using an optional colorimeter. It is Dell’s first HDR10 screen with premium certification from the UHD Alliance.
With the Dell UltraSharp 27 4K (U2718Q), Dell has another 27-inch monitor in its range that is not HDR-capable.
8K 32-Inch Monitor
Dell already presented more hardware at CES in January, including the new flagship monitor UltraSharp 32 8K (UP3218K), with 32 inches and 8K resolution. The UP3218K is said to cover the AdobeRGB and sRGB color spaces completely. Driving it at full resolution and 60 Hz requires two DisplayPort cables, since only 30 Hz is possible via HDMI.
Monitor Prices & Availability
Dell has not yet announced prices for the new monitors. According to unconfirmed online sources, the UltraSharp 27 4K HDR monitor (UP2718Q) is expected to cost around 2,000 US dollars, and the UltraSharp 32 8K (UP3218K) around 5,000 US dollars. All monitors can be ordered from mid-July 2017 at www.dell.de. The official prices can be viewed there from the market launch.
VR-Ready Workstation
Another highlight at CES was the VR-ready Dell Precision 5720 all-in-one workstation. It is equipped with seventh-generation Intel Core processors or Intel Xeon processors, as well as the latest AMD Radeon Pro graphics cards. The Dell Precision 5720 All-in-One workstation is already available and starts at a price of 1,735 euros plus VAT and shipping costs.
