The team Beth David and Esteban Bravo created their graduation film with Maya, RenderMan, Nuke and Premiere.
The students from Ringling College financed the project through Kickstarter so that they could hire a compositing artist and a sound designer. The film received around 14,000 US dollars in funding, which allowed the team, among other things, to fulfill its dream of a unique soundtrack for the story. In spring 2017, “In a Heartbeat” was finished after around a year of work.
We look forward to welcoming the team as nominees at the animago event on September 7. Of course, we invited the minds behind all 33 nominated entries to Munich so that they can be there live if their project is honored.

There will also be plenty of action and opportunities to win: At Wacom’s Sketch Battle, the best digitally sketched reinterpretation of the Münchner Kindl will receive Wacom hardware. NEC is also raffling off the 34-inch EX341R display. And present 4D, Ignyte and Milkroom Studios are bringing VR experiences to try at their stands. Whoever creates the best VR painting wins an Oculus-sponsored headset.
