The new version of Red Giant’s video transitions & effects plug-in “Universe 3.0” has been released. The tool can be used with various hosts, including After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer and more. Alongside a new Dashboard , there are a total of five new text-generator effects…and a hefty price increase.
The dashboard is intended to simplify the overview, selection and handling of the respective effects, including with the help of presets and favourites.
The Five New Text Effects Include..
- Type On for creating text output in a computer-terminal style, including cursor type, prefix, suffix and random settings.
- Type Cast for editing and simple animation of text properties on a word or character basis: colour, opacity, position, rotation and more..
- Screen Text: Also for a computer-terminal look, but as scrolling code
- Hacker Text for visualising the encryption & decryption of text between the source text and the target text, also with random options.
- Text Tile for creating rows & columns with random characters
Price Increase
Universe was previously available for $20 per month and $99 per year. With the 3.0 update, Red Giant has made a very strong price increase to $30 per month and $199 per year. However, anyone who currently has an active subscription should have received an email with information about retaining the old prices. The tool is available for Windows and Mac.
