Working with Cinema 4D: Anyone who was at FMX 2019 could also talk with Maxon. Instead of popcorn, there was quite a lot of ice cream this year and a host of interesting presentations and workshops about the DCC tool. In the talks, you can see its use for motion design, VFX work, feature film, character animation and more. You can view an overview of this year’s FMX here. Anyone who could not come to the conference should keep the calendar free for our animago AWARD & CONFERENCE from November 2 to 5!
Motion Design for Lamy
Michael Fragstein and Matthias Lein from Büro Achter April provide an insight into the technical implementation and concept for the LAMY project. From simple scenes and JDisplacment to X-Particles setups for diffusion-limited aggregation, the two artists show you many details about the individual clips.
Aixsponza: Feature Film for Children
Our good Matthias Zabiegly from Aixsponza shows here how the team was used in creating the graphics for the feature film “Checker Tobi und das Geheimnis unseres Planeten.” In detail, it is about individual shots and assets, such as the Earth, which is also shown in the intro. You can see how you can also obtain many interesting renderings with simple setups:
Shading, Lighting & Rendering for VFX
The next FMX 2019 presentation about Cinema 4D and “Apollinarisstr.: Ingredients to Realism” by Marc Potocnik (Renderbaron) revolves around photorealistic interior scenes. To produce corresponding looks for an old, worn kitchen, procedural shading and texuring as well as lighting techniques were used here, among other things. Marc Potocnik used Maxon’s Physical Renderer for the scene.
