At this year’s IBC 2019 in Amsterdam, Adobe is once again presenting its new developments. This time there is more Adobe Sensei—Adobe’s machine-learning technology. With the new “Auto Reframe,” it should in future be possible in Premiere Pro to have the appropriate crop of video content automatically adjusted for different image aspect ratios. The tool analyzes the footage and automatically adjusts the frames—whether for square, vertical or 16: 9 formats.
The algorithm can be adjusted a little via the “Slower, Default and Faster Motion” options in order to achieve better results. You can then make changes manually via keyframes… if the AI should fail. Adobe intends to release the new feature in one of the upcoming Premiere updates this year.
