After half a year, the time has come: release 5 of the Corona Renderer for Cinema 4D has been published. In the video, the developers provide an overview of the changes.
Corona 5 for Cinema 4D
As with the 3ds Max release, this time the focus was on optimising RAM consumption and render times. Feature highlights include:
- 2.5D Displacement as the new default method for calculating displacement with lower memory requirements and better render times
- Caustics optimisation for render times and memory requirements
- Multi Shader for random colours or textures between objects
- Select Shader and Select Material, allowing an object to store multiple shaders or materials.
- Corona Sky Object replaces the Corona Sky tag and enables multiple skies in LightMix as well as the use of any shader as environment lighting
- Cinema 4D Background Object now supported natively
- and many more features and fixes (release notes)
