Like SIGGRAPH 2020, SIGGRAPH Asia 2020 moved online because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The organisers concluded that an in-person gathering could not be held safely and replaced the planned physical event with a virtual programme.
The conference theme was Driving Diversity, intended to highlight the range of technical specialists and artists working across the global computer-graphics industry.
The event had originally been scheduled to take place in Daegu, South Korea, from 17 to 29 November 2020. Programme, timetable and format details were subsequently published by the conference.
