Cloth simulation and brushes

The ZBrush 2021 preview focused on cloth dynamics, including gravity and collision against solid geometry. Interactive brushes allowed direct sculpting of fabric: ClothDimple shaped a sofa cushion, while ClothHook pulled folds across a character’s dress.

MicroPoly and dynamic geometry

Realtime MicroPoly targeted heavier structures such as chain mail and included material presets. FiberMesh with Dynamics assembled a character from small elements, while Unweld All with Dynamics broke geometry into separate pieces. NanoMesh and ZModeler were also improved, and Dynamic Thickness added control over thickened geometry edges.

The build was still a preview, with a fuller livestream demonstration planned. Artists should test collision stability, topology density and brush behaviour before applying the tools to production sculpts.
