More Than 2,500 Responses

CGarchitect published the results of its 2020 Architectural Visualization Rendering Engine Survey. Responses came from the CGarchitect community, Facebook groups and software forums between 25 June and 11 September 2020. More than 2,500 completed responses were included.

Production Use and Evaluation

The survey asked which rendering engines respondents currently used in production, whether they were experimenting with alternatives, which engines they were testing and how likely those candidates were to enter production.

The results offered a snapshot of renderer adoption and evaluation within architectural visualisation. Studios comparing engines should still benchmark representative scenes, since survey popularity does not establish suitability for a particular pipeline.

Survey Results

CGarchitect published the 2020 survey results alongside comparable reports from 2018 and 2016.
