Standalone USD Editing
MUSE — the Multiverse USD Standalone Editor — could open, display and edit USD files without a connected digital-content-creation application. J Cube designed the tool to load and modify USD assets before passing them to compatible applications such as Blender, Houdini or Nvidia Omniverse.
Limitations
At the preview stage, editing was limited to USD attributes, including multi-selection editing, references to other USD files, overrides and USD compositions. MUSE could display USD primitives in its viewport, but did not yet support direct translation, rotation or transformation there.
Availability
The technology preview was available for Windows and Linux, with macOS support planned. MUSE was distributed with J Cube’s Multiverse USD kit. Additional information appeared in the release notes and on J Cube’s YouTube channel.
