FMX 2021
FMX 2021 concluded successfully as the first online edition of the industry conference.
In numbers
Across three conference days from 4–6 May, FMX hosted 178 presentations and 100 live question-and-answer sessions with 388 speakers. The programme reached 2,200 participants from 44 countries, while 66 companies and universities appeared in the FMX Forum.
Reimagine Tomorrow
Under the theme Reimagine Tomorrow, the programme featured speakers including Victoria Alonso and Danielle Costa of Marvel Studios and visual-effects veteran Douglas Trumbull.
Sessions examined recent projects such as WandaVision, Godzilla vs. Kong, Lovecraft Country and Raised by Wolves, alongside animated films including Soul and Over the Moon. Emerging topics included digital humans, speech synthesis and extended reality.
Keynote speaker Florian Gellinger, co-founder and executive producer at Rise, expressed gratitude that FMX could take place in 2021 despite the year’s difficulties.
Availability
Most recorded presentations remained available through the FMX event platform until 31 July 2021, and replay tickets continued to be sold after the live conference.
