Rocket Lasso released Ricochet, a Cinema 4D plugin for creating and animating procedural spline trajectories.
Ricochet treated splines like a particle system, calculating paths that could bounce through a scene or inside a model. Because trajectories were evaluated in advance, artists could see exactly where a moving element would strike.
The resulting paths could drive sweeps, hair, plant growth, mesh volumes and futuristic-interface effects. Rocket Lasso said the plugin supported Cinema 4D’s standard renderers, Sketch & Toon and third-party rendering solutions.
