Epic Games released Twinmotion 2021.1, updating its real-time architectural-visualisation workflow.

The new Twinmotion Importer was based on Datasmith, Epic’s toolset for bringing CAD assets into Unreal Engine. It could synchronise multiple Revit files with the same Twinmotion project.

The release also exposed selected Megascans assets inside Twinmotion, including real-world scans from the 3D Assets and Surfaces categories. At the time, limitations remained for weather effects, location- and time-dependent lighting, camera effects and some Twinmotion Library asset types.
