AMD released a beta of its open-source USD Hydra add-on for Blender under the Apache License 2.0.
USD workflow inside Blender
The add-on enabled artists to import USD files, create USD scenes directly in Blender, render Blender scenes through the USD Hydra framework, and export USD data for further work in other applications.
MaterialX was supported. At the time, hdStorm was the only renderer formally supported, although AMD said Arnold, Redshift and RenderMan were expected to work in most cases.
The source code and releases were published in AMD’s GPUOpen GitHub repository.
