OptiTrack released Motive 3.0, updating its software for performance capture and motion tracking.
Solver and rigid-body tracking
The release introduced a new solver intended to improve performance-capture accuracy. Motive 3.0 could track more than 300 rigid bodies simultaneously using active or passive markers, and it added support for precise finger tracking.
The software was designed to maintain useful tracking when markers were occluded. Andreas Nick, then lead animator at Asobo Studio, said the system helped the team capture complex movement through occlusions without losing precision.
