In brief: For players who find traditional railway stories too gentle, the then-upcoming open-world horror game Choo-Choo Charles offered a very different kind of locomotive.
The game from Two Star Games was initially announced for the first quarter of 2022. Players travel across an open world in a small yellow train while attempting to stop Charles, a man-eating locomotive with spider-like legs. The train serves as both transport and a weapon platform.
Players complete missions for non-player characters, explore for resources and improve their train’s speed, armour and firepower. Those upgrades are essential when Charles appears and begins hunting the player across the island.
