Montreal Recruits Animation and VFX Talent

A Montreal recruitment initiative targeted experienced US animation, game and VFX workers for roles at major studios.

In brief: Cartoon Brew reported that Montreal’s animation, games and VFX sector was recruiting experienced workers from the United States.

The article stated that roughly half of Canada’s VFX industry was based in Montreal. Studios partnered with the economic-development organisation Montréal International on the Journées Québec Gaming & VFX initiative. Around 40 percent of Montreal VFX workers were described as temporary foreign workers at the time.

Mid- and senior-level vacancies were advertised by companies including WB Games Montréal, Cinesite, Framestore, Motive Studios, Eidos Montréal and Square Enix Montréal. Applications were scheduled to remain open through 12 November 2021 via the Talent Montréal portal.
