In brief: Maxon released VFX Suite 2.1 in early December and recommended the update to all users.

Suite purpose: VFX Suite collected tools for keying, tracking, cleanup and compositing.

Version 2.1 changes: The update added Metal support for shadows and reflections and optimised Spot Clone Tracker, King Pin Tracker and Lens Distortion Matcher for Apple processors. VFX Bang used the GPU more efficiently for blur and glow calculations. Fixes also addressed Optical Glow falloff, Bang null creation, Supercomp matte backgrounds and other functions.

Availability: VFX Suite 2.1 was available to Red Giant Complete and Maxon One subscribers through Maxon’s downloads page. Digital Production had previously covered VFX Suite 2.0. Test host compatibility, Metal output and existing projects before upgrading.
