Daikin is now shipping version 2.5 of its Scenarist DVD authoring software.
Scenarist is available in Basic, Advanced and Professional versions, which allow the desired scope of services to be adapted to the available budget. Of course, upgrades between these versions are still possible at short notice, for example if the need arises in the middle of a production.
Scenarist 2.5 comes with a hardware MPEG2 decoder card from Netstream, which generates the final control of MPEG2 bitstreams in terms of quality and runtime behaviour during the authoring process, thus ensuring a shortened workflow. This version also introduces full compatibility with Windows 2000, which is also becoming increasingly popular in the production sector.
Scenarist has also been expanded in the area of the increasingly accepted DTS audio format, a 6-channel surround sound alternative to Dolby Digital 5.1. On the one hand, DTS tracks can now be monitored during authoring.
