At IBC 2001, held in Amsterdam from 14 to 18 September, Munich-based InterMedia Solutions AG planned to present a new system for managing encoders across an enterprise.
Remote control and failover
ENTERPRiSE-CONTROL could remotely control and monitor any number of streaming encoders over networks and the internet. The software detected encoder failures and automatically switched to backup systems. InterMedia said this could improve streaming reliability while reducing staffing requirements.
The licensing model was based on encoder usage. Potential customers included broadcasters, internet television stations and professional streaming service providers.
Updated authoring tools
InterMedia Solutions also planned to show new versions of its Rich Media authoring tools LiVE-CONTROL, i-CONTROL and DESiGN-CONTROL. The company exhibited at IBC on Stand 1.170.
