Maxon began shipping Cinema 4D Release 8, positioning it as accessible professional 3D software with a new balance of performance and price.
R8 added hundreds of functions focused particularly on workflow and character animation. A modular design allowed customers to assemble a package according to production requirements and budget.
Core and modules
Cinema 4D R8 formed the core application. Seven optional modules extended it: Advanced Render, Thinking Particles, PyroCluster, MOCCA, NET Render, BodyPaint 3D and Dynamics.
The XL Bundle combined the core with five modules, while the Studio Bundle included all seven and offered savings of up to 25 percent against individual prices.
Prices
The announced German prices including VAT were €699 for the core, €1,999 for the XL Bundle and €2,999 for the Studio Bundle. The upgrade from Cinema 4D XL R7 to the R8 XL Bundle cost €599.
