In parallel, SGI is introducing expanded capabilities for Visual Area Networking technology (VAN) with software version OpenGL Vizserver 3.1. SGI: “The new SGI products make large-data or big-data visualization possible for a significantly larger group of users. Supercomputer-based high-end visualization is now also affordable for smaller companies and institutions.”
