The solution offers Dolby Digital Surround Audio (Dolby Digital 5.1 sound is downmixed to stereo) and hardware acceleration for compatible graphics processors, as well as de-interlacing and filtering. DVD playback can be performed with Microsoft Windows Media Player or the Media Center Edition, with the latter, in combination with compatible TV tuners, also able to play recorded TV and timeshifted TV broadcasts. The tool also decodes HD streams in Windows Media Player. The processor load is minimal because MPEG-2 decoding is offloaded to the graphics processor. The decoder is available for download at http://www.dvd.nvidiaproducts.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi; the price is 19.95 US dollars plus tax.
