Siggraph: The Pixel Farm Announces PFPlay 2.0 and PFClip 1.0

The new version of RFPlay will come with the following improvements:

  • a project manager
  • platform-independent batch processing
  • full clip history
  • Smart Cache for better performance
  • completely new media handling tools
  • Direct connection to Apple Shake
  • quality-management tools
  • 64-bit optimized
  • support for direct 10-bit DPX file playback

The little brother of this program is PFClip, the first version of which was presented here at Siggraph. It is a RAM-based viewer for digital intermediates. Its most important features are:

  • 3D LUT technology (Look Up Table)
  • Cinespace and Kodak are supported
  • API for integrating other color spaces
  • Smart Cache for intelligent memory management
  • true 64-bit version available to manage large amounts of memory
  • all operations take place on the GPU
  • full 2K 10-bit playback on all system including Macintosh G5

According to the provider, PFPlay will be available from August 8 for 4,999 US dollars. PFClip will appear on the same date and is to cost 349 US dollars. The Pixel Farm grants discounts for multiple licenses.
