Avid and JVC Professional Europe are offering bundles of Avid Liquid and JVC HDV camcorders through authorised JVC dealers across Europe until 30 September 2006. Liquid 7.1 was then the only software able to work natively with the 720p/25 and 720p/24 formats recorded by JVC’s HDV camcorders. The bundles combine Avid SD and HD editing software with the JVC ProHD GY-HD110E or GY-HD111E and cost €5,995 and €6,495 respectively.
JVC marketing communications manager Nick Fletcher said cooperation between the two professional-video manufacturers would provide a feature-rich, affordable HD production system. The companies positioned the bundle for video producers considering a move to HD.
