The large award ceremony for the Webscuts.06 Internet Film Festival takes place this year on October 12 at 20:00 at the Cinestar in the Sony Center on Potsdamer Platz, Berlin. The Internet community can participate in the event simultaneously via live streaming.
The organisers interface!berlin, media.net berlinbrandenburg and area42 have collected prizes with a total value of about 20,000 euros, the majority of which consists of ten licences for the Mental Ray renderer donated by the Berlin developer and main sponsor Mental Images.
Anyone who wants to preserve their chance can submit their entry online until September 15, 2006. The prerequisite is that the film was produced for the Internet or mainly publish in it. Whether it was created digitally or with conventional editing technology is irrelevant. The organisers do not accept product advertising or illegal, violence-glorifying or pornographic content. The organisers make a selection of the films according to technical and content criteria, and from this group of films a specialist jury then selects the three winners. In addition, an audience prize is awarded.
