“You cannot wait until the Tour is over and then contribute to clarification. That cannot be done. The Tour is under constant suspicion of doping. This is a very concrete case, involving a young rider who belongs to the young wild clean ones. Whether he is really doped or not, the B sample will show. On possible perspectives, Brender explained: “We have always made clear that we have a contract for a cycling tour, a cycling sport, that must run with clean elements. And we did not make a contract for assistance and auxiliary instruments, that means doping agents”, Brender said. With this step, ARD and ZDF were trying to contribute to all those involved in cycling finally clearing the decks now. “We want clean sport”, Brender said on “ZDF-Mittagsmagazin”.
