Tim Schafer contributed substantially to LucasArts classics including Full Throttle and Monkey Island 1 and 2. He will make his first European conference appearance at GCDC 2007, which runs from 20 to 22 August.
During his time at LucasArts as a game designer and later lead adventure programmer, Schafer worked on titles including Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango. In 2000, he founded Double Fine Productions, whose first game, the action adventure Psychonauts for PC, Xbox and PlayStation 2, received multiple awards. His GCDC keynote will examine the challenges and methods involved in integrating creativity into modern game design.
GCDC project director Frank Sliwka said: “Tim Schafer is an exceptional figure in the development industry. His keynote at this year’s GCDC will provide exciting insights into the potential of the creative game-development process.”
