The personnel reinforcement of the Swiss CAD team is the subsequent step resulting from the successful cooperation between Tech Data and the manufacturer Autodesk; as early as 01 August of this year, the international IT distributor received authorisation for all vertical Autodesk products in the ISD area in Switzerland.
Patrick Belser explains: “I am looking forward to my new challenge, which offers a great many development possibilities and opportunities. A major focus for me is on actively supporting and strengthening the five currently existing authorised Autodesk CAD specialist dealers and on acquiring new sales partners together with Autodesk.”
His tasks include the acquisition of projects and comprehensive project support as well as supporting sales partners at events and with sales and marketing measures to increase turnover. Before joining Tech Data, the qualified geographer was responsible for the geodata management area at the Office for Geoinformation and Surveying of the Canton of Lucerne.
Jörg Lauer, head of the Business Unit CAD department at Tech Data and responsible for the DACH region, says: “The authorisation for Autodesk’s ISD products in Switzerland is an important step for us and rounds off our offering for our sales partners throughout the DACH region. As early as February 2007, we received Autodesk’s sole authorisation for Germany and Austria for this industry segment and it was only the logical consequence that we have now also received it in Switzerland.” He continues: ““We will provide Autodesk with significant support in its goal of successfully positioning the vertical products in the ISD market. In doing so, we are in line with Autodesk’s goal of achieving market leadership for infrastructure products in Switzerland as well as in Germany and Austria by 2010.”
