Vienna is known worldwide for magnificent imperial buildings, cosy coffee houses and the history of the Habsburg monarchy. One of the most important buildings is the Hofburg, the former imperial residence. In the coming April 2008, the traditional Hofburg will be the venue for an important event of modern times. On April 10 and 11, 2008, the crème de la crème of the virtual design scene will meet at the 9th RTT Conference. Munich-based Virtual Reality (VR) specialist Realtime Technology AG is hosting the event.
The conference has established itself as the annual highlight of the visualisation industry and developed into the most important independent communication platform for users, customers and partners in the field of professional 3D visualisation. Designers, Virtual Reality (VR) and marketing experts, developers and engineers from renowned companies in the automotive, aviation, consumer goods and furniture industries, as well as international media agencies, come together to gain an overview of the current state and latest trends in high-end 3D visualisation. More than 350 visitors from over 20 countries are expected.
The two-day programme offers presentations by high-ranking speakers who will, among other things, provide an exciting insight into the booming Asian design scene, as well as a series of discussion rounds and workshops. Speakers at the last conference included representatives from Audi, Porsche, Toyota and the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena. This year, the accompanying exhibition once again offers space for brand-new developments in VR technology. The winners of the international university competition „RTT Emerging Technology Contest 2008“ will be honoured at the conference and give conference participants an insight into the virtual future at the exhibition. The competition enters its second round in 2008 and recognises research projects by students in the fields of „Interfacing & Interaction“, „3D Rendering & Simulation Software Technologies“ and „3D Content Realtime“. As another highlight, an attractive supporting and evening programme awaits the guests.
