M.I.R. 1.3 retouches film with Click & Fix

HS-ART’s M.I.R. 1.3 provides manual dust busting and wire removal for Windows and Mac film-restoration workflows.

Manually repairing long image sequences containing thousands of frames is time-consuming. HS-ART’s M.I.R. provides tools for correcting individual defects such as dust, poor splices, scratches and similar artefacts.

M.I.R. uses retouch by clone, taking existing image information from another part of the film to repair the target region. Its Monocle enlarges the source and destination areas, while adjustable elliptical brushes support different repair shapes and sizes.

Automatic positioning of source and destination regions reduces repetitive work. MicroLoop and caching allow playback of 2K and higher-resolution material in real time.

The software supports DPX, CIN, TIFF, TGA, JPEG, QuickTime and other formats. It runs on Windows and Mac. A demonstration edition is available, and the application may be used free as a player for image sequences.

New features in M.I.R. 1.3 include:

A revised file dialog for opening sequences, adjustable subsampling, configurable memory management, editable LUTs, nondestructive operation, video output through DVS Pronto and Clipster, and improved input and output.
