HIS Introduces High-End Graphics Solution with Dual-GPU Technology

The new HIS HD3870 X2 uses two AMD RV680 chips in dual mode, linked through an internal CrossFire bridge; CrossFireX can run four GPUs on two graphics boards.

The new HD3870 X2 is the flagship of the HIS product range. Two high-performance RV680 GPUs operate in dual mode on one board. The high-end card offers two 256-bit memory interfaces and two sets of 320 stream-processing units for pixel and vertex processing. It supports DirectX 10.1, Shader Model 4.1, 24x custom-filter anti-aliasing and 128-bit HDR. With CrossFireX, two graphics boards can operate four GPUs at once. The gaming card is supplied with 1 GB GDDR3 memory and is designed for demanding graphics applications at high resolutions.

The accelerator also offers multimedia and HD-video functions for transferring PC images to a television in high digital quality. It includes HDMI via the supplied DVI/HDMI adapter with 5.1-channel digital surround sound, a Unified Video Decoder for Blu-ray and HD DVD playback, and AVIVO HD video acceleration and image quality.
