Solutions for Media (S4M) will present its integrated broadcast-management systems and professional solutions for creating, managing, editing, and distributing digital video material at NAB 2009 in Las Vegas from April 18 to 23. Among other products, the company will introduce the newest member of its product family: ClipJOCKEY, a studio-production tool tailored to the requirements of television broadcasters and production companies.

ClipJOCKEY supports everyday workflows in the broadcast control room and enables file-based operation. The tool includes a range of functions also provided by S4M’s Video Production Management System, VPMS. Unlike VPMS, ClipJOCKEY was designed as a standalone solution focused on the core processes in control-room and (post-)production environments. ClipJOCKEY therefore addresses the specific requirements of television broadcasters and production houses in both ingest and playout.

For example, MOS-supported news formats can be handled without tape. Preproduction of magazine programs is also file-based. The AddOn mode developed specifically for this purpose provides the same convenience previously available only with tape recording. The “Multi-Channel Link Feature” supports key-and-fill applications and multicamera productions.

As a partner at Microsoft’s NAB stand, S4M will also present Dynamics Media, a system based on Microsoft’s Dynamics AX business-management software. S4M describes Dynamics Media as an “out-of-the-box” solution for all broadcast-management tasks, consisting of two modules: while “Dynamics Broadcast” supports license, material, and asset management as well as program planning, “AdSales” focuses on airtime sales and traffic management.

At a joint stand with Annova Systems, S4M will present additional field-proven solutions for managing individual broadcasters, broadcaster groups, and entire networks: systems for license and rights management (S4Rights), program planning (S4Schedule), sales, traffic and advertising-time optimization (S4AdSales), and video content management (VPMS). Annova and S4M will also demonstrate Annova’s OpenMedia newsroom system and S4M’s VPMS working together in a shared workflow.
