At NAB 2009, DVS is extending the applications of its CLIPSTER® flagship system in post-production, film, and broadcasting. Among the additions, CLIPSTER® now supports real-time workflows with RED material through a purpose-built hardware accelerator.
The new real-time RED workflow can substantially accelerate post-production. RAW material recorded with a RED camera can be placed directly on the CLIPSTER timeline, edited, and output simultaneously in 4K. New hardware integrated into CLIPSTER enables decoding and debayering of RED RAW files at full 4K quality in 12-bit RGB. All CLIPSTER real-time effects are available at resolutions up to 4K.
REDCODE™ RAW files can also be combined with other file and video formats, enabling a flexible data-processing workflow.
For NLE systems, CLIPSTER® converts REDCODE™ RAW files to Avid DNxHD at high speed. Full integration of RED metadata substantially accelerates conforming with RED RAW material.
The conforming tool automatically assembles high-resolution RED content from an offline EDL, ALE, Final Cut Pro™ XML, or cut list. The 4K 12-bit data can be compared with offline proxies in a split-screen view.
