The event will be hosted by SAT.1 presenter Verena Wriedt, with comedian Ole Lehmann appearing as the live act. The jury includes actors Simone Thomalla and Oliver Korittke, among others.
Together with 99FIRE-FILMS Deutschland, organiser of the unique 99FIRE-FILMS-AWARD short-film competition (www.99fire-films.de), MyVideo.de rolls out the red carpet and enables young emerging filmmakers to conquer the film world with an original entry.
The 99FIRE-FILMS-AWARD 2010 will be presented parallel to the Berlinale. Creative young filmmakers are invited to register by February 1 and shoot an original 99-second film on a specified theme in just 99 hours. The competition starts on February 2 - all participants registered by then will be sent the film theme and an individual upload code by email. The theme will also be announced on the campaign website. From then on, the clock is ticking: during the next 99 hours, participants must demonstrate ingenuity, speed and creative execution and submit their short film to MyVideo.de by February 6 (http://www.myvideo.de/channel/99FIRE-FILMS). The winner in the “Best Film” category can look forward to 9,999 euros in prize money as well as contacts in the film and media world.
At the gala on February 18 at Berlin’s Admiralspalast, an independent jury will present the 99FIRE-FILMS-AWARD in the categories “Best Film”, “Best Idea” and “Best Camera”. The jury is made up of experts, film and media professionals, and celebrities. Simone Thomalla and Oliver Korittke have already confirmed their participation on this year’s jury. TV presenter Verena Wriedt will guide the audience through the varied gala programme, and there will be a live act with comedian Ole Lehmann.

The new star in the film-award firmament already impressed last year: more than 200 films were submitted to the 99FIRE-FILMS-AWARD 2009 - enabled, as it is this year, by principal sponsor Industrieverband Feuerverzinken - and around 700 guests attended the award ceremony and celebration in Berlin.
