PI-VR GmbH is releasing the new version 5.0 – for faster creation of 3D imagery and virtual prototyping, photon mapping offers users a proven approach to light simulation in enclosed interiors in the fields of architecture and vehicle interiors. According to the manufacturer, a revised raytracing engine will reduce the calculation time for imagery in all rendering modes by up to 30% and deliver results with reduced noise, even at low sampling values. A cluster engine completely reimplemented, with which it is now possible to use a computing cluster of any size for the interactive calculation of individual images at any resolution.
