Among the products Corel bought from AVID are Pinnacle Studio, Avid Studio, Avid Studio for iPad, and the Dazzle video hardware products including Dazzle Video Creator® Platinum HD. Through this step, Corel wants to expand further its Digital Media division, which includes Paintshop Pro, WinDVD, and the Roxio product lines.
Through the purchase of the products, the core Pinnacle Studio team also moved to Corel to provide active support to the Digital Media Group division in development. The price of the sale is not known. Both companies are maintaining silence.
Matt DiMaria, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Digital Media division at Corel, is confident and announced that Corel is now broadly positioned in the field of video editing with Corel Videostudio and the acquired AVID products.
