OctaneRender is a physically correct and, according to OTOY, fast renderer that uses GPUs to generate images. The key features include, on the one hand, that no additional import or export from Maya to the actual rendering engine is required, because OctaneRender is integrated into Maya by means of binary libs.
In detail, all OctaneRender nodes are therefore implemented in Maya’s Nodegraph Editor for complex mixing of materials and textures. The configuration of these OctaneRender nodes, including parameters and features, also takes place directly through Maya.
The following video provides insight into how it works:
To use OctaneRender for Maya, a standalone version of OctaneRender is also required. A package containing both can be purchased for a price of 179,- EUR. ->Redirect to the shop
