Luxology will present Modo 701 at a press conference on Monday, 25 March. You can also register online for the webcast of the event. Highlights will include a new particle system, new audio tools and unlimited network rendering. According to Luxology, Modo 701 will receive a new particle engine with an easy-to-use preset workflow, audio playback and a sound channel modifier.
Dynamic Simulation Layers, preview-render synchronisation and a new Python interpreter are intended to give Modo 701 significantly better and faster performance.
Furthermore, according to Luxology, Modo 701 will get a Linux version, which is also expected to be available for version 6 at the end of this week. Unfortunately, the price of the new Modo version will also be raised by 300 dollars; a floating licence is then expected to cost 1,795 dollars. According to Luxology, however, update prices will not change.
