With the Weapon, Scarlet-W and Raven camera models, it should become possible to choose whether to record in Redcode Raw, DNxHR or DNxHD.
The advantage: recording in one of the Avid codecs simplifies and accelerates the workflow, as the material can be processed directly even with less powerful postproduction systems.
The Avid codecs DNxHR and DNxHD are expected to be available for recording on the named models from the middle of the year, in addition to the previously available Redcode Raw and Apple’s ProRes formats.
