But what is new in the host applications? (In this case Adobe, Avid, Flame and the other OFX-compatible ones, such as Resolve, Vegas, Nuke and Flare)
New is an extension for the Builder, in which you can assemble your own combinations of effects. Assembly is made easier by the new Grid – Manager, which can tidy up even the most complex node tree, albeit only in the display. 
As always in Sapphire, new presets are also being added – this time a good 150, in addition to the existing three thousand. To manage all that, there is an improved browser that supports previews.
The new effects include “S_Luna” – photorealistic lunar cycles, which creates bump maps of the moon with an adjustable date / time and allows settings for glow, colouring and even an atmosphere – so the next vampire/science-fiction film can come along without concern.
The “S_Brush” generates – surprise, surprise – a “hand-painted” effect that can be applied to any image or graphic. And “S_RomanTile” produces mosaic textures if the science-fiction vampire image is set in the time of the Roman emperors, or if other adjustable patchworks are needed.
Sapphire is already available as a subscription per host for 500 per year, or as a Permanent Licence from 1700 US dollars; different hosts and extensions receive special prices. Upgrades are also available, but you have to speak directly to the sales team.
