Following the last 2.6 version, the 3D PBR painting tool from Allegorithmic is receiving a small change in its version naming. Instead of continuing with 2.7, it will now use years: In 2017.1, the team placed particular emphasis on new content. We summarize the new features the update brings here.
Substance Painter 2017.1 New Features
- Substance Source plug-in, which allows you to browse the Substance Source library within the Painter interface.
- New content with more than 230 alphas, 50 procedural patterns, two environment maps and four new fonts
- Newer HBAO ambient occlusion filter for calculating more accurate AO.
- Eight additional filters, including glow, drop-shadow and color-correction filters.
