RISE Visual Effects Studios broke down its work on the London motorcycle chase in Hobbs & Shaw, combining plate photography with replaced environments, digital vehicles and a CG double for Idris Elba.

London environment work

The team replaced backgrounds and expanded traffic with computer-generated vehicles. Added glass destruction, tyre smoke and environmental detail helped connect the digital work to the live-action plates.

Digital rider replacement

For stunt beats that could not be photographed safely, RISE substituted a full-CG version of Elba’s character. VFX supervisor Jonathan Weber led the work shown in the breakdown.

Shot teams should review current source plates, lens data, motion blur and contact interaction before using an older breakdown as production reference.
